B513 Planning Meeting, 21st April
2004
Present:
Tony Cass, Anne Funken, Jukka Lindroos,
Tim Whibley
1.
Previous Minutes
- 2.1) Grills won’t be added to the doors; alternative
arrangements need to be made for air input to the 18kV cell area. One
possibility is to take air from the “safe room”, but the routing for the
ducting is not clear. Another option would be to add an
hole in the wall to the corridor and fit a fire damper.
- 3.2) The extra input has been added to
the two PDUs in the machine room.
- 3.3) There has been no progress on
blocking these cable passages. Little progress is likely no since Wouter van Baaren will be
leaving by the end of April.
- 3.6) TIS Noise in machine room OK.
- 4.2) Provided. Needs some work. Need
clearer phasing of the upgrade now. Need last possible date for various stuff. ST could pay some, but cash flow
problem.
2.
Substation Status
- Belloni have completed the civil engineering work. Schulthess
have one barrier section to install; this is now in fabrication.
- The transformers have been ordered and
are scheduled to arrive in mid-May. The housing has been chosen to meet the
needs of the potential barn upgrade. The LV switchboards will arrive in June.
- Installation of the general services is
somewhat delayed, but there is no problem for the overall schedule
provided work starts by the 1st week of May.
- The HVAC specification, including the
electrical part, has been circulated for comments.
- Anne is now preparing the price enquiry
for the “critical” UPS and also the details for the 48V supply as she is
now responsible for the overall contract! The 48V installation will be
later than foreseen, but this should not impact the commissioning date.
3.
Machine Room Upgrade Status
- The machine room switchboards have been ordered.
There may be a need to store these in B513 as construction will start by
mid-June and some will be ready well before possible installation.
- The normabarre layout in the internal
networking area has been agreed. Anne will now ask for a quote with the
intention to have work starting in the 1st week of September,
even if not all normabarres can be removed
immediately.
- Duct installation work can start from September. Jukka will review the installation of normabarres on RHS and possibly propose modifications for
the LHS to increase the possibility of later duct installation. The HVAC
work must also cater for the cooling needs in the modem room.
- The ceiling under the plenum will be redone once the ducts are
installed in the LHS
- As there are 3 UPS modules, the machine room PDUs will have to be distributed across these. This
will have some impact on equipment installation as it will not be possible
to use all the capacity of all PDUs connected to
a given UPS switchboard.
4.
B513 HVAC Planning
- Just in time phasing required.
Ventilation now. Chilled water to be reviewed.
5.
AOB
- Anne confirmed that there is no need to
issue a DR for the UPS systems.
- There has been no reply from MGE as yet
concerning their STS modules.
- Next Meeting: 2pm, Friday 14th
